Although Bell is the undisputed leader in helmets with removable chin guards, we are constantly striving to outdo ourselves. The Super Air R is not a simple facelift of the Super 3R helmet. It's a fundamentally new helmet that weighs a whopping 144 grams less. Add to that significantly better ventilation, easier fastening with two buckles (instead of three) and innovative Spherical Powered by MIPS technology that acts as a sort of suspension inside the helmet. The helmet is actually composed of two hemispheres: an outer made of harder EPS foam and an inner made of softer EPP foam. The two are connected by yellow elastomers and slide over each other like a joint. In the event of an impact, the outer hemisphere stops immediately, while the inner hemisphere and its head can continue moving, which is slowly cushioned by the elastomers. Simply suspension.
